Fourth Grade Curriculum Update

            These are the subjects and content areas the students will be studying this

next week.  Please make sure that your child goes over these areas of study with

you. 

Virtue of the Month:  Respect and Responsibility

Math: Digits, Place Value, Ordinal Numbers, Months of the Year, Review of Subtraction, Fact Families, Test on Lessons 1-5

Geography:  Finding a Place on a Map, Time Zones, California Regions

History:  The Spread of Islam, Islamic Culture

Religion:  Unit 1 Session 2 – Our Father in Heaven, God Listens to Us, The Kingdom of God, Faith, Hope, and Charity

Science:  Volcanoes, Review for Test on Thursday (Holt Science pages 10-26)

Language Arts:  Common Nouns, Direct Objects of Sentences   Writing:  Writing Middle Sentences, Compound Parts of a Sentence, Organizing Your Ideas    Reading:  Continue Reading/Discussing Pollyanna, Focusing on Characters and Plot, Focusing on Literary Elements and Devices

Check Monday Envelope for:  Principal’s Newsletter and flyers from the office.  The Monday Envelope needs to be signed and returned to school by Wednesday.
