Fourth Grade Curriculum Update

            These are the subjects and content areas the students will be studying this

next week.  Please make sure that your child goes over these areas of study with

you. 

Virtue of the Month:  Self Control & Self Discipline

Math:  Metric Units of Length, Naming Fractions, Adding Dollars and Cents,

Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and Right Angles

            *Math test on Thursday

Geography:  Making the Most of Mountains, Review of the World Mountains Unit for the Test on Friday (I’ll provide students with a study guide on Monday)

History:  Trans-Sahara Trade, Ghana Land of Gold (Due to ITBS Testing we were unable to get to this last week)

Religion:  Unit 2 Session 1 – Acting with Love and Faith Summary, Jesus Fulfilling the Law, Mass, Living the Beatitudes

Science:  River of Ice, Chapter Review, The Science test won’t be until the week of October 22^nd.  I’ll post on which day in next week’s blog

Language Arts:  Definitions, Match the Meaning, Synonyms and Antonyms, Completing the Sentence  Writing:  Learning to Proofread, Writing Instructions Reading:  Continue Reading Pollyanna, Focusing on Characters and Plot, Focusing on Literary Elements and Devices     

            *As always the Spelling test will be on Friday

Check Monday Envelope for:  Principal’s Newsletter and flyers from the office.  The Monday Envelope needs to be signed and returned to school by Wednesday.

Other:

            As you know, the student maps were due this past Friday.  I want say how great they all turned out.  I’m impressed, great job 4^th grade.

            Also, the spelling words for this week are in the student vocabulary books.
